R U OK?

R U OK? Day is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that any day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life. This year on Thursday 9 September, we’re getting involved and encouraging everyone to learn when and how to have a conversation that could change a life.

Beraldo Coffee has always found this campaign too powerful not to share. You can never truly know what someone is going through, so let’s break the stigma around mental health and suicide by having that important conversation with the people around us. Whether it be a family member, a friend, a colleague, or your next door neighbour.

The power of your words is more significant than any of us realize. They might not always be the easiest to express but we understand that our emotions, experiences and feelings are important and valid. We never truly know what someone is going through, and the simple question of “Are you okay?” can create a safe space for those who are struggling behind close doors. Life is full of challenges and it’s okay not to always be okay.

The last two years have been extremely hard on everyone’s mental health and we’re sending big love to everyone doing it tough at the moment. Whether you’re living alone, without work, or simply just struggling with lockdown – we’re sending you a big virtual hug.

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1. Ask “Are you okay?”
2. Listen.
3. Encourage action.
4. Check in.

Start the conversation.
